Castlehead Church Renovations 2017

Castlehead Church Renovations 2017

Thanks to the workers and the Owner Alex who allowed me access to this old historic church. The plans to tarmac over the graves caused outrage and the story even hit the papers.

Now the property has fallen into Alex hands, who plans to dig down under the church to create a badly needed sub-basement for residents to park their cars.

Other plans will see the ceiling being taken out which will allow Alex to create three levels of floor space to create two and three bedroom flats.

Around the building, a fence is being put up to separate the building from the grave yard. But Alex is planning public access to the old grave yard where I even have family buried.

As it stands two flats have been snapped up even though construction is expected to take around 18 months to complete. So if you’re looking for one of these flats folks you better get in quick. People where looking around the site when I turned up to take these photos.

Saying that I wouldn’t mind one of the flats. I would love to own this entire building for a photographic, video, recording studio, spirit of Scotland remembrance project headquarters/home.
