Academy status for council’s Sports Leader programme. A scheme to prepare pupils for a future in sports management has received national backing. Successful delivery of the Sports Leader programme by Renfrewshire Council has resulted in the authority becoming one of seven programme providers in Scotland to be awarded ‘Leadership Academy’ status by Sports Leaders UK.

Five drivers caught in vehicle emissions crackdown. A two-day blitz on pollution producing vehicles saw Renfrewshire Council catching five offenders. Community safety wardens took to the streets of Paisley town centre to check whether vehicles emissions were within the legal requirements.
