Residents in Renfrewshire are being reminded of a change to bin collections due on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Collections due on both Saturdays will change, with grey and green bins collected on Sunday 26 December and Sunday 2 January.

Blue, brown and food waste bins will be collected on Monday 27 December and Monday 3 January, while rural collections will change to Sunday 26 December and Sunday 2 January.

All other collections will take place as normal over the Christmas and New Year period.

Councillor Cathy McEwan, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board, said: “I want to thank our collection teams for the fantastic work that they do all year and for continuing to provide a service over the festive period.

“If you’re due a collection on Christmas or New Year’s Day, please be aware that these will change to allow our teams to spend time with their friends and families.

“We know that at this time of year that there is more waste collected than normal so please ensure you separate your items, recycle as much as possible and use all your bins to ensure you have enough space.” For more information, residents can visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/mybins.
