Killer Instinct are back after a fantastic night at The Bungalow at the beginning of 2020. If you missed these guys and you like The Killers then you must see them Friday live! Killer Instinct are a collection of local musicians who are all players of the highest calibre and to a man hugely experienced rock musicians. Since they formed they have been in demand all over the country. Their attention to detail is noticeable using authentic sounds and sequenced studio sounds to emulate ‘The Killers’ unique sound. The band creates an energy and atmosphere pounding out The Killers wonderful songs making it a great night out. Tickets are available on the door which opens at 7pm.
Liquid Jazz are described as a jazz quartet playing standards, bebop, funk and latin. The line up includes saxophone, guitar, bass and drums. It’s been a while since they played the Bungalow so it’s good to see them back in the afternoon slot tomorrow at 2pm. Pop in, sit back and enjoy some Liquid Jazz.
It’s now seven years since they split, R.E.M. With a string of peerless albums running through four decades R.E.M. remain as the band that saved American Rock. Whether playing festivals or on tour across the U.K. and into Europe Stipe is the definitive R.E.M. tribute. A full band tribute, complete with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the original, and acclaimed as “awesome” by Michael Stipe of R.E.M. Support from The Recurring Dream a tribute to Crowded House. The Cave had a fantastic day of live music all in aid of ‘Classrooms for Malawi’ last Sunday. Jen Sloan of The Cave said “A huge £2538.25 was raised and I need to say a million thankyous firstly to all the bands, thank you all so much, you never fail me in these things. You were all amazing! To Dave Wilson for sound, Del for compering from 12pm to 12 am and keeping the whole day going, Aitch McWade for all you do for us. Lyndsay Jones what can I say, amazing woman. My staff, wow! I love you guys you are the absolute best. Thank you. And to each and every one of you who parted with your hard earned cash. We could not have done it without you all. Thank you” And their ‘Four in a Row’ this week is tonight at 9pm: Tom and Gerry, Tomorrow at 6pm: The Black Triangles followed by Gordons Alive at 9pm then on Sunday from 6pm it is The Rheumatoid Rockers followed by Grant’s After Show Party at 9pm.
Let your hair down tonight at The Keg and rock out to The Hype playing from 9pm. To keep the weekend party going they have another excellent band called Axis lined up for you tomorrow night from 9pm. The Anchor has a busy weekend in store starting with the return of the fantastic Best Bad Influence at 4.30pm tomorrow followed by The Brassie Lassie then on Sunday they have Thunder Road playing from 4.30pm. Martin James is at Whisky Joes from 8.30pm tonight. Kennedys start their new programme on Sunday at the early time of 3pm. First band to kick it all off is Wildcard. Dizzy Corner will be at Harvies tomorrow night from 9pm.
The Old Swan have Full Hog in tomorrow at 4pm, Lee James will be playing a swing set on Tuesday at 3pm then on Wednesday it is The Pre Fab Four, Lee James is back on Thursday at 3pm this time with a Through the Decades theme. Dunky Hunter’s Abbey Open Mic is on Monday from 8.30pm and Stevie D Open Mic starts at 9pm on Tuesday at Gantry. The Wednesday The Keg’s Open Mic with Johnny Barr starts at 8.30pm.
