Over the festive period, opening hours at Renfrewshire Council will change although all essential services will continue to operate.

While many council offices will be closed over Christmas and New Year, residents will still be able to access a range of lifeline services including care at home, community meals and emergency repairs.

A handy guide has been prepared for residents on the council website outlining opening hours and contact numbers for any services they may need.

Councillor Marie McGurk, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Communities, Housing and Planning Policy Board, said: “While many of our staff will have a well-deserved rest over the Christmas period, all our lifeline services will continue to operate for those who need them and others will offer a reduced or emergency service to ensure we can assist residents in Renfrewshire.

“Our website offers information on how best to contact us during the festive period so if you need to contact us over the festive period, please visit the page where you’ll find the contact information you need.”

The council will close at 2.30pm on Tuesday 24 December and will reopen fully on Monday 6 January.
