Fun time for pupils with karate and dance

Dozens of young people had a fun time trying out activities from karate to dance and cheerleading.

An event for 47 pupils from Riverbrae, Mary Russell, St Paul’s and St Margaret’s schools was organised by Renfrewshire Leisure, at the ON-X sports centre, in Linwood.

The pupils were shown the basics of karate, by coaches from the Renfrew Shitokai Karate Club along with dance and cheerleading moves from the Twist and Hit Cheerleading group.

And medals were awarded to the pupils who performed best at the activities.

Renfrewshire Leisure’s Head of Leisure Mark Tokeley said: “We wanted to give the young people a chance to try out different activities and everyone seemed to enjoy the event.”
