Around 10% of Renfrewshire’s population are carers.

Very often, carers put their caring role before their own health and well-being – Renfrewshire Carers Centre aims to ensure that carers look after themselves too.

On Thursday, 10th October Renfrewshire Carers Centre are hosting a Health and Wellbeing Information day, from 10.30am – 1.00pm in the Carers Centre.

This information day will give carers the opportunity to speak with organisations and professionals who can help them improve their health and wellbeing, have their height and weight checked by a professional dietitian and take part in taster workshops.

We are delighted that our friends at ROAR will be joining us to host a Falls Prevention Workshop, Renfrewshire leisure will give carers the opportunity to don their dancing shoes for a dance fit session and finally carers can beat away their worries at our drumming workshop with Rhythm to a T.

Renfrewshire Leisure will be there on the day to let carers know about their discounts available to carers.

Carers will have the opportunity to speak with Carers Centre staff about what support is available to them, such as our carer support groups, carers training and Adult Carer Support Plans.

All carers living in Renfrewshire are warmly welcomed along; you do not need to be registered with the Carers Centre to attend.

Information stalls will be open from 10.30am.

ROAR Fall Prevention Workshop 11.00am – 11.30am

Renfrewshire Leisure Dance Fit Workshop – 11.45am – 12.15pm

Diane Goodman, Centre Manager at Renfrewshire Carers Centre, said:

“We’d like to take this opportunity to invite all carers living in Renfrewshire along to our information day.

“We know there is around 18,000 carers in Renfrewshire and we aim to let each and every carer know about the services and supports they are entitled too and also the organisations that can help them.

“Our information day will be jammed packed with information from community organisations and health professionals.

“We hope carers will take part in our taster workshops, designed to show carers what they can be involved in and how it can benefit them.

“We’re really looking forward to meeting new carers and hope carers take this opportunity to engage with Renfrewshire Carers Centre.
