Is it time to clean your apartment again? The task can be quite tiring regardless of how big your place is. Even when cleaning isn’t hard, it’s boring, which is why most people dread doing it.

However, there are clever and unique ways to clean your apartment that are also much more fun. In most cases, these are easy to do with things you probably already have and use for various purposes.

Getting the stains out, cleaning water stains, kitchen counters, fridge, and the carpet doesn’t have to be as tricky. Check the article below to discover how to clean your apartment fast and easy in these ten ways.

  1. Cleaning your stove

Gas stoves are probably the most challenging to clean because of all the nooks and crannies. Still, you don’t need a lot, but make sure to ditch that cloth you’ve been using to clean it.

Instead, grab your old toothbrush and some vinegar. Spray a mixture of 1:1 vinegar and water on the stove and let it sit for a few minutes. Brush it through for which you’ll maybe need some elbow grease depending on how dirty the area is.

The process is a bit easier for glass stoves. You’ll need some hot water, liquid dish soap, baking soda, and a cleaning rag. You might want to use gloves with this because baking soda is harsh on hands.

Take a bowl of hot water and pour some dish soap in. Dip your rag inside to get it wet. Next, you should sprinkle some baking soda on the stove and place the damp cloth over it.

Make sure to squeeze all the water out, so it’s not dripping. Wait fifteen minutes and wipe the area clean for shiny results.

  1. Cleaning the microwave

Whether you want to confess or not, your microwave has to be among the messiest appliances. Unless you clean it regularly, it can look worse than your vacuum cleaner you maintain the floors with.

Still, most products smell quite chemically, and they tend to stick for days on end. For this reason, you should turn to a more eco-friendly solution that’s also safer for you. All you need are a few slices of lemon, some hot water, and vinegar.

Put the lemon slices in a microwave-safe bowl with some water and a splash of vinegar. Place it inside the microwave and cook on high for five minutes. Make sure to leave the bowl inside for a few extra minutes once the five minutes are up.

When that’s done, you should remove the bowl from the microwave and carefully wipe the inside.

  1. Deodorize your carpets

All you need for this step is baking soda and a good vacuum cleaner. Asking the experienced people at Clean That Floor, we’ve learned that a powerful and versatile vacuum makes all the difference.

Though the market is packed with different models, you must choose the one that fits you the best in terms of features, accessories, and specifications.

Once you have a strong and convenient vacuum, you can easily achieve clean floors in all the rooms. Sprinkle some baking soda on your carpets and let it sit for at least fifteen minutes. Once that time is up, vacuum the floors as you usually would.

  1. Remove the water stains from wood

Does an annoying water stain on your table annoy you? That’s normal, more so if the table is relatively new. However, there’s a way to remove the water stain that you probably never heard of.

All you need is your hairdryer. Set it on high and hold it close to the stain to speed up the drying process. This should remove the stain in some twenty minutes more or less.

Still, be careful with this because some wood is more sensitive than others. Also, use some olive oil to moisturize the wood once you’re done.

  1. Cream of tartar for several purposes

Though you could use baking soda for this, there’s another ingredient that works a bit better. Cream of tartar is an excellent thing to use for cleaning, although it’s often forgotten.

Mix cream of tartar with some water to make a paste for polishing stainless steel surfaces. In the same way, you can clean porcelain sinks, but you should use vinegar instead of water.

Rub the paste onto the stain until it’s gone, and don’t forget to rinse. Wipe it dry and polish the area for a shiny result.

  1. Cleaning the showerhead

If you didn’t clean your shower head in a while, cleaning it now is a bit more challenging. For a simple solution, you’ll need some distilled vinegar, lemon essential oil, ziplock bag, thick elastic band, and a cloth.

Fill the plastic ziplock bag with distilled vinegar enough to submerge your shower head. You should also add a few drops of lemon essential oil.

Use elastic bands or hair ties to tie the bag at the top, so it doesn’t slip from the head. Finally, you should let this sit overnight. Once you remove the bag in the morning, you should just wipe the head clean with a microfiber cloth.

  1. De-scaling the faucets

De-scaling the faucets with the abovementioned method is a bit tricky because the bag won’t stay on upside down. Luckily, there’s another solution.

Soak paper towels in vinegar and put them on all the places where there’s hard water. Spray some more vinegar on the towels every few minutes you pass by. It takes about twenty minutes for the stains to loosen enough so that you can clean them with an old toothbrush.

However, this isn’t recommended for marble countertops or another type of stoneware because it can corrode.

  1. A smart way of using a dishwashing wand

You should really try this trick if you want your bathroom to look spotless. It’s an easy-to-do trick you can use in the kitchen as well.

Fill a new dishwashing wand with dish soap and vinegar and place it somewhere in the bathroom. You can hang it on a suction cup, so it doesn’t take too much space in the shower.

Use the wand to quickly wash any stain you notice in the shower or the sink. It’s always at hand, so you can use it every day and in between deep-cleaning sessions.

  1. Cleaning the dusty lampshades

Lampshades are a bit tricky to clean because cleaning them can often make them look worse. Still, they’re magnets for dust, so what can you do?

Use a lint roller to pick up the dust from your lampshades easily. Not only it’s a quick way to do it, but it’s also quite satisfactory too. It’s fun, so we recommend you save it for last.

You should try this even if your lampshades look clean because dust is often invisible at first glance. It’s especially tricky to notice if the lampshades are white. However, make sure to use washable/reusable lint rollers or a lint brush.

  1. Clean the stains from your carpet

While some stains are better left to professionals, others are easy to clean with just an iron and some vinegar. This trick works on organic stains from food, and it might not be the best on ink and dyes.

Make a solution of one part vinegar and two parts water. Spray the spot and place a damp cloth over it.

Set your iron on the steam setting and iron the rag for about thirty seconds. It might take more or less depending on how stubborn the stain is, but it should work
