Thailand is a place of breathtaking beauty, thick jungles teeming with wildlife, beaches with crystal clear blue waters, warm, friendly locals, and a history that is rich in culture. It is fast becoming one of the hottest, vacation hot spot havens. Environmental diversity is one of the islands main draws, with people from all over the world making their way to Southeast Asia’s tropical utopia all year round.

Places to be:

The island is full of stunning yet, diverse areas. From the bustling capital city of Bangkok to the charming island of Koh Samui, where you can rent a beautiful luxury villa, just a stone’s throw away from one of the many, white sandy beaches. Blissfully, fall asleep to the sound of the lapping waves after a long but exciting day of adventure. There is definitely no shortage of impressively stunning views, with plenty of activities for the entire family.

  • Visit one of the famous beaches

While the beaches of Koh Samui are lovely, there are plenty of non-touristy spots too. For instance, any of the numerous boat vendors will gladly take you to the gorgeous Koh Libong, Trang’s largest island for a day trip. Relatively uncrowded beaches await. Along with possible sightings of the endangered dugong.

  • Khao Sok National Park

Offers everything to make the trip one that you’ll not forget, go trekking through a massive, leafy green jungle filled with unique and amazing wildlife, take in the scenic waterfalls, and cool off in one of the multiple rivers.

 The People:

Another high point on your trip will be getting the chance to meet with the lovely Thai people. The locals, no matter where in Thailand, are some of the nicest, and friendliest people you’ll ever meet. One of the things you’ll notice is that the natives take their royal family very seriously. So serious, that criticizing them is punishable by law. Thai’s adore their King, so show respect and you will receive some of the best hospitality in return, from some of the most awesome people.

The Cuisine:

One of the highlights of your visit will be delicious, real Thai cuisine. Not many are unfamiliar with Thai food, however, authentic Thai food is on a whole other level. There is really no comparison. The flavors and taste are outstanding. You will find quaint little food stalls on pretty much every corner, each with its own yummy twist on traditional favorites.

Traveling Safely:

  • Always show respect, and never badmouth the King. Know the customs (IE: knees and shoulders covered when entering a temple and/or royal buildings).

  • Like any country, Thailand has areas with higher crime rates. Always listen to your guide and stay in the ‘safe zones’.

  • Avoid wearing, or flashing valuables like jewelry and cash. Keep your phone/camera out of sight until you need to use them.

  • Do not explore at night, especially while alone. This includes the beaches.

  • Stay at a respectable, although possibly slightly more expensive, resort, or one of those fabulous villas we mentioned earlier. Saving money by staying in a sketchy place just isn’t worth the risk.

Using Koh Samui as a base, exploring this almost magical island should be a memorable and unforgettable experience. Being in the heart of this gorgeous place, you will have access to everything you could ever want, alongside unbelievably magnificent views, all, practically at your fingertips. There is a reason that the island sees thousands of visitors throughout the year.
