FITNESS fans will benefit from £100,000 of new equipment, longer opening hours and almost double the space to work out at their fitness suite in Erskine.

The boost comes as the Renfrewshire Leisure’s fitness suite is set to move from a portable cabin at Erskine Sports Centre to new facilities in the nearby Park Mains Sports Complex.

The move to the new and improved fitness suite – that includes most of the current equipment plus the new fitness kit – begins on Monday, October 15 and will re-open later that week.

The fitness suite at the Sports Complex will offer a space almost twice the size of the current facility and the new location gives customers improved changing and toilet facilities.  Qualified Renfrewshire Leisure fitness staff will also be on hand at all times to provide help and advice to customers.

During the short period when the fitness suite transfer is taking place all fitness classes will run as normal at Erskine Sports Centre. Members looking to use the gym are encouraged to use any of the five other facilities at the Lagoon, On-X Linwood, Renfrew Sports Centre, Johnstone Community Sports Hub and Ralston Sports Centre until the new fitness suite opens.

Head of Leisure Services, Mark Tokeley said, “The move to Park Mains Sports Complex will allow us to improve the quality of service we offer our customers.

“Not only will we have £100,000 of brand new equipment available, but we’ll also be providing a much bigger space at our peak times, evenings and weekends.”
