Are you hoping to transform your home this summer? Would you like to feel like you’re living in a new home without the hassle of moving? For you and the many others that would simply like to change things around a little, below are four great ideas. Some of them can be completed on a tight budget, while there are others that will require some expenditure. However, before you decide on any of them, it’s time to tidy up and declutter. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.

Give the Exterior of Your Home a Completely New Look

The improvements to the exterior of your home can cost just a few pounds or several hundred. Applying a new coat of paint doesn’t have to cost the earth, whereas installing new windows can be a sizeable expense. The UK’s weather is not very kind, and not much suffers more than the exterior of your home. Windows become faded, inefficient and jaded. They can be easily replaced by contacting timber window manufacturers UK and asking for a quote.

Another significant improvement could take the form of adding an extension. This will give the outside of your home a completely new look and provide you with additional living space.

Add a Splash of Colour

When you’ve got a spare couple of days, head to the DIY store and buy some brightly coloured paint. It’s not too expensive, and you can change the mood of a room completely by picking the right colour. Tackle one room at a time, and you’ll soon have the whole house repainted. If you don’t fancy the idea of spending your weekend’s painting, there is always the option of doing one wall as an accent.

Bring the Outside Inside

Outdoor rooms are very trendy at the moment, but why not reverse it and bring the outside inside? There are a huge range of houseplants to choose from, and even if you don’t consider yourself to be green-fingered, adding bunches of colourful flowers around your home is an easy alternative. Having plants indoors can bring a number of benefits. For example, they will refresh the air by absorbing excess carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. They also release water which can increase the humidity of a room. Plants remove toxins from the air. It has also been shown that having plants in a room decreases fatigue, colds, headaches, coughs, sore throats and flu-like symptoms.

Spruce Up Your Garden

As a nation, we don’t spend enough time in our gardens. This might be because of the weather, but that’s no reason to spend so much time indoors. Being outside is good for you in a variety of different ways. Encourage your family outside more often with some nice garden furniture and a plastic outdoor tablecloth in bold colours. If you can’t afford to buy new, why not invest in a few pots of paint and recycle some old furniture, breathing new life into it with a lick of paint.

Transforming your home doesn’t have to cost a fortune, but there’s nothing wrong with spending money on important improvements. Tackle one room at a time and, before you know it, your whole house will feel like new.
