Pupils at St Andrew’s Academy have eagerly signed up for Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) ahead of Give to Get scheme going live later this month.

Young people aged 11 to 25 will be able to earn reward points when they volunteer through Give to Get – and they could be helping to run youth clubs, coach young people in sports, teach music and support local events and community groups.

Reward points can be exchanged for exclusive experiences, vouchers and other must-have goodies, with points awarded for each volunteering milestone reached.

Young people can also build up their volunteering hours as part of working towards a Saltire, Duke of Edinburgh or Youth Achievement Award and gain even more reward points.

Councillor Jacqueline Henry, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Education and Children Policy Board, said: “Youth volunteering is a great way for young people to get involved in activities that interest them while being rewarded for their time.

“Sport, music and working with local youth and community groups are great opportunities that can boost experience and skills of young people, helping them get ahead in their careers. It is also a great way to make new friends with similar interests and hobbies.”

Give to Get is supported by Renfrewshire Council, Renfrewshire Leisure, Engage Renfrewshire and Erskine Music and Media Studios.
