Craig Higgins, 23, entered a photo he took at Gleniffer Braes Country Park. He said: “The picture was taken near the waterfall at Gleniffer Braes Country Park.

“It’s a happy place for me because, growing up, it was where we took our family dog for big walks every week or so.

“I’ve spent many happy years going there, and now I’ve moved in with my fiancée and our Labrador, Darcy, I get to take her there on big walks.

“We recently had a good snow fall and we took Darcy up to the Braes for a walk. I brought my camera as it is a very beautiful area. I also happen to love snow! So that area and this picture just remind me of all those happy memories.”

To try and help cheer up the nation during the bleak days of January and February, National Accident Helpline created #MyHappyPlace.

The competition asked people all over the UK to share a photo of a place which makes them feel happy when they’re ill, injured or simply feeling down.

Beth Powell, Marketing Director at National Accident Helpline, said: “During the bleak, wintry days of January and February, over 600 people from all over the UK sent us a photo of their ‘happy place’.

“It just shows that, whether British people are injured, feeling ill or just a bit under the weather, we’re able to find inspiration and comfort in the beautiful surroundings we cherish.”
