Renfrewshire Council has issued a call for tenants in the Johnstone Castle area to join the local tenants and residents association.

Any tenant of Renfrewshire Council or Linstone Housing Assocation is eligible to join.

A special general meeting has been called for 3pm on Friday 18 December. The meeting will take place in the Johnstone Castle Community Centre on Pine Crescent.

Councillor Tommy Williams, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Housing and Community Safety Policy Board, said: “A number of members have left the association after many years of valuable service and we’re looking for people interested in stepping up and taking their place.

“The association has been active in the Johnstone Castle area since the 1950s and to keep it running, we need the support of the local community. There’s a lot happening in the area right now and the association has a big part to play in the community.
