Erskine Badminton Club has recently received a £10,000 ‘Awards for All’ grant and the club will use the funding for two coaches and additional equipment. Awards for All gives groups the chance to apply for a grant of between £500 and £10,000 for projects that aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.

Erskine Community Nursery SCO has also recently been successful in applying to the Communities and Family Fund and has secured funding of £6,000 which will be used for activities and equipment that will make time at nursery more enjoyable for the children. The Communities and Families Fund has £4.5 million from the Scottish Government and £1.5 million from the Big Lottery Fund to offer grassroots projects from £250 to £10,000.

Gavin Newlands, the MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, said:

“I am delighted that Erskine Badminton Club and Erskine Community Nursery have been successful in securing £16,000 worth of funding from the Big Lottery and the Scottish Government between themselves.

“This vital support will enable both groups to go from strength to strength in the future and allow them to continue to positively contribute to the Erskine local community. I wish the badminton club and the nursery all the very best for the future.”
