A new Virgin Atlantic service to Las Vegas got off the ground today (Thursday 10 September) at Glasgow Airport.
A Boeing 747-400 aircraft will operate the seasonal service every Thursday in September, as well as the first Thursday in October.
Steven Marshall, Marketing and Commercial Insight Manager at Glasgow Airport said: “This is fantastic news for Scottish travellers. Las Vegas is considered the entertainment capital of the world and is an extremely popular destination – this new route from Virgin Atlantic is sure to be popular with our customers.
“We are very proud to have a strong brand such as Virgin Atlantic operating from Glasgow Airport. The airline’s Florida service has grown in popularity every year since launching in 2007 and we are confident Las Vegas will prove to be equally successful.”
The new route will form part of Virgin Atlantic’s Joint Venture with Delta Air Lines, with the US carrier offering the service for sale under the codeshare agreement. Customers will be able to use Delta’s services to connect onwards in the US.
