INVESTING in people is one of the best ways of building a successful business, according to the boss at the intu Braehead shopping centre.

And general manager, Gary Turnbull has shown he practices what he preaches after the mall was awarded the Silver Investors in People accreditation.

Now staff at intu Braehead have been presented with a special cake to mark winning the Silver Investors in People Award.

The Investors in People scheme encourages and certifies best practice in people management and staff training with a rigorous assessment of a company or organisation’s performance.

Gary said: “Companies who have a well-trained and highly-motivated staff are well on the way to success.

“Developing, improving and helping people realise their full potential is the best investment a company can make.

“This is the first time we had applied for any kind of accreditation with Investors in People. The most important aspect of the process has been the journey we have gone on to win the Silver Award.

“It has made us look at all our management and staff training practices to make sure they are the best they can be. Our next challenge is to win Gold accreditation, which I am confident we can do.”
