BRITAIN’S Got Talent star, Edward Reid turned up at the food court of the intu Braehead shopping centre and said:
“Geisha plate of that sushi!”

The Scots singer and presenter is preparing to host The Big Eat event at the mall – two days of cookery demonstrations on Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23.
Edward met up with 27-year-old Patricia Silva, who’s a chef at the Yo! Sushi restaurant in the centre, who was dressed as a geisha in traditional kimono and make-up, to find out what tantalises the taste buds in Japan.

But the Big Eat free festival of food will also show shoppers how to make lots of other favourite dishes, as it features chefs from restaurants like the Handmade Burger co, Filling Station, Tony Roma’s, Buffet Kitchen and the Marks and Spencer store along with cocktails from the 360 champagne bar in the mall.

A specially built kitchen is being set up in the central atrium for The Big Eat, which runs from noon to 5pm on both days and there will be free nibbles for everyone to enjoy.

The Big Eat is part of a series of Big Treat events throughout May, at both the mall and Soar at intu Braehead. These events are also taking place all over the UK at other intu shopping centres.
Marketing manager for intu Braehead, Lydia Brown said: “Whether you’re a novice Nigella Lawson, a would-be Anthony Worrall Thompson, or a junior Jamie Oliver, our Big Eat event is the place to be this weekend.

“The chefs demonstrating their skills will be passing on so many tips and tricks from the kitchen, you’ll be heading straight home and setting the oven to Gas Mark 6!”
