Four Beaver Scouts from the Oldhall Beaver Colony received their Chief Scout Award Bronze.

During the evening our District Commissioner was able to present a number of badges including nights away awards, gardeners badger and the top award for the 6-8year olds, the Chief Scout Award Bronze. A number of Beaver Scouts also made their journey up to the Cub Pack through a moving up ceremony in front of parents.

The Oldhall Beaver Colony, run by Angela Bell, has been working hard on their Gardner badger. Over a few week period the youngsters have grown plants from seeds and bulbs. Part of their challenge was also to clean up the courtyard. So enthusiastic by their new green hand hobby, the Beaver Scouts have designed a new garden which they hope to plant after the Easter break.

Commenting on their work Beaver Scout Leader, Angela Bell said:
“I am very proud of the work the Beaver Scouts have done over the past few weeks. It is great they are able to get badges for fun and adventurous activities.

“I am sad to see a number of our Beaver Scouts move up to Cubs however I know they will have a great time by continuing their Scouting journey.

“We have seen an increase in the number of Beaver Scouts joining Oldhall and are doors are always open to young girls and boys aged 6-8years.”

Rob Murray, District Commissioner, said:
“It was a great pleasure to award Finlay, Andrew, Archie, Lewis and William with the Chief Scout Award Bronze. Their hard work over the past few months has meant they have achieved the highest award available to Beaver Scouts.

“Taking part in the action packed evening with Oldhall Beaver Scouts was great fun. The opportunities open to girls and boys in the Ralston area is truly amazing and this is down to the hard work of Angela and Anna.

“As we see more 6-8year old girls and boys joining the movement, we will hopefully see more young people reaching their potential and learning new skills for the future.”
