A new production from Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballet dance company (Pine Tree Poggle and Me, Tiger Tale), will be performed at Paisley Arts Centre next month.

In Whiteout, acclaimed choreographer Natasha Gilmore explores bi-racial relationships with honesty and humour. The show is based on personal experience, drawing on stories from across Scotland, and features 6 dancers moving between digital projection and live performance to create a visually rich and dynamic dance piece. In addition, Whiteout features an original music score from celebrated Scottish novelist and musician Luke Sutherland (Mogwai).

A spokesperson for Barrowland Ballet states ‘We are delighted to be coming back to Paisley again, after our last performance in February of the children’s dance piece Pine Tree, Poggle and Mewhich was hugely successful. We are looking forward to bringing another fantastic piece of dance theatre to Paisley Arts Centre.’

Barrowland Ballet is one of Scotland’s most exciting and successful contemporary dance companies and is based in the East End of Glasgow. The company name reflects its unique mix of popular culture and high art. The most recent work was The River, a Festival 2014 event which took place along the banks of the Clyde with a 150 strong cast of dancers, singers and musicians.

Whiteout will be performed at Paisley Arts Centre on Thursday 7 May at 7.30pm. Suitable for ages 14+. Tickets are £10 (£6 conc) + booking fee* and are available via the Box Office on 0300 300 1210 or online at www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/onlinebooking.
