A young inclusive dance ensemble creating inspirational and challenging dance will be performed at Paisley Arts Centre on Tuesday 31 March, with an opening performance from a Paisley-based dance group.

Indepen-dance 4 is an ensemble of four young dancers aged between 21 and 33. Chosen for their beautiful performance skills, Indepen-dance4 has been working together with Indepen-dance over the past few years to develop this small, tight inclusive group, achieving a high performance standard, with vibrant characters and engaging story-lines.

The much acclaimed triple bill of work include the following dance pieces – Some of the Moments We Haven’t Forgotten choreographed by Christine Devaney with music composed and performed live by cellist Robin Mason; Drifting directed by Ramesh Meyyappan with music by the award-winning composer David Paul Jones; and Goldfish choreographed by Lucy Bennett and Chris Pavia of Stopgap Dance Company.

The show will be preceded by a curtain-raiser performance, titled Help Me, Hold Me by Paisley-based dance company, Dirty Feet Dance, who aim to promote the creation and production of work by performance artists with physical impairments. Their performance piece, Help Me, Hold Me is inspired by their time spent working with Epic Arts dance troupe from Cambodia.

Ruth Foster, choreographer of Dirty Feet Dance states ‘it is wonderful for our dancers to get the chance to perform in our local arts theatre and we are delighted to be opening for such a prestigious dance group such as Indepen-dance.’

Tickets for Indepen-dance are £10 (£6 conc) + booking fee* and are available via the Box Office on 0300 300 1210 or www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/onlinebooking
