Young children in Renfrewshire hopped on board the PlayTalkRead bus for fun and learning as it toured towns and villages across Renfrewshire.

Designed to help encourage parents and carers to play, talk and read with their little ones, the big purple bus is packed full of books, toys and activities for the whole family to get involved in.

Kids had the chance to take part in engaging activities such as interactive Bookbug storytelling, song, rhythm and rhyme sessions and also got to take away a free book to help continue the fun at home.

Councillor Jacqueline Henry, Renfrewshire Council’s Education Policy Board, said: “The PlayTalkRead bus tour around Renfrewshire is always a great experience for children and adults. The bus provides an ideal space where children and their parents or carers can have fun and learn together.

“Learning to play and be creative is important for children’s development and teaches them skills that are important in later life. The PlayTalkRead bus offers a fantastic opportunity for adults to learn more about how to interact with their child and make the most out of play time.

“There was a great turn out each day on the bus and I’m sure kids and adults alike can’t wait for the next visit.”
