Imagine what it must be like to be told that you are going to lose some or all of your vision…

“I remember just after diagnosis, I had lost my job, my income, my identity as a teacher, my driving licence, my social network, my house, my independence and I had sunk into a deep depression, whilst struggling to look after a new baby and two toddlers.”

Every day, 100 people begin to lose their sight; but only one in 3 will be offered support and counselling, despite the devastating impact it can have on a person’s life.

You could help us reach more people and make life better for those in Paisley who are living with sight loss.

RNIB Scotland works locally, supporting blind and partially sighted people in Paisley, and we are looking for your help to raise the funds needed to continue our work in Renfrewshire and throughout Scotland. We want to make sure that everyone who is told they are loosing their sight has the support they need to get through this life changing time, and that they know what help is available to them.

We urgently require volunteers to be part of our Paisley Volunteer Fundraising Group, to help with collections, coffee mornings, book sales and awareness days in hospitals and clinics.

If you like chatting to people, meeting new people and would like to make a real difference to blind and partially sighted people’s lives, please get in touch with Catriona Connelly on 0141 332 7757 or email Catriona.connelly@rnib.org.uk

Your support really will mean the world to someone who has just lost their sight.

Thank you.
