MP Visit to DEBRA Charity Shop

The Right Honourable Douglas Alexander, MP visited the DEBRA charity shop at 1 Moss Street in Paisley (PA1 1BG) on Friday 6 June at 10.30am.

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal.

Douglas Alexander visited the shop on Friday 6 June and met with staff and customers.
Regional Manager Clair Orr said: “We are delighted that Douglas Alexander, MP has taken time out of his busy schedule to visit our store”

“Money raised by the DEBRA shop enables DEBRA to offer specialist care and support to people and families affected by the condition and to search for effective treatments and ultimately a cure for EB”. We are really excited about Mr Alexander’s visit and want to encourage local people to come in and have a look around.”

“We are also one of the few charities in the local area who offer a free collection of donated, good quality furniture and white goods. If anyone would like to donate to the shop, they should call the shop on 0141 840 2321.”

“We also need more volunteers to come and help in the shop. We’re a friendly bunch and new helpers will receive a warm welcome. Volunteers generally work one shift a week with hours to suit them”
