Christian Blessing for the seven sentenced to death in 1697 under the witchcraft laws.

On Tuesday 10th June 2014 there was a procession led by lady drummers “Sheeboom”. They met at Queen Street entrance to the Gallow Green Paisley.

It then proceeded through to Maxwellton Street to Maxwellton Park at the corner of Newton Street.

Once there, the Rev Mhairi Breingan conducted a Christian Blessing for the seven sentenced to death in 1697 under the witchcraft laws.

Provost Anne Hall and Councillor Tommy Williams made speeches.

The all girls group “Real Gone Kids” added their voices to the event.
After the blessing the group returned to a reception in the Alamo Bar, 9 Caledonia Street, Paisley.
