Barshaw Park Gala Day 2014

Fun for all the family at Barshaw Gala Day

Barshaw Gala Day on Saturday 14 June marks the start of a summer of fun for local residents.

The popular annual event is set to attract thousands of people to Barshaw Park in Paisley’s East End from 12pm to 4pm.

A varied programme of attractions includes main-stage music and entertainment provided by young people from the Erskine Music and Media Studios.

Throughout the day, a variety of local talent will take to the stage looking to catch the eye of the crowd, with varying musical styles sure to provide something for every musical taste.

Across the day there will be a variety of attractions on offer including fairground rides and stalls, while there will be plenty of family activities on display with face painting, children’s entertainers and magicians on hand to keep the entertainment continuing all afternoon.

Those with energy to burn can take part in football competitions or show off their talents on the microphone, with karaoke available to give visitors the chance to steal the show.

Councillor Eddie Devine, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Environment Policy Board, said: “This free event is a terrific opportunity for all the family to get involved in their local community and enjoy the attractions set up on the day.”

“It should be a cracking summer of fun across Renfrewshire with lots of different fun events and activities for families, and Barshaw Gala Day will get us off to a great start!”

Visitors to the event should park in the designated overflow car park at the east end of the park, or at Paisley Grammar School, where free parking will also be provided.
