Experience a snaphot of Scotland between the hours of midnight and 4am.

Presented by The Arches, ‘Whatever Gets You Through The Night’ is an ambitious fusion of film and live performance coming soon to Paisley Arts Centre.

Featuring a stellar line-up of musicians, ‘Whatever Gets You Through The Night’ is firstly a film: a beautiful collection of stories told in song, shot during the night in locations across the country.

It features some of the best musical talent that the Scottish music scene has to offer. From Eugene Kelly and Emma Pollock to Withered Hand and Rachel Sermanni – each act is shown rehearsing and performing tracks in scenes throughout the screening.

Filmed in several different cities, towns and villages, ‘Whatever Gets You Through The Night’ is a unique opportunity to meet the lost souls, party animals and dreamers who wander the Scottish landscape between the hours of midnight and 4am. Be transported from the Bongo Club and the Streets of Edinburgh to the Orkney Ferry in the Highlands and back again all in one evening.

There will also be the opportunity to get a unique insight into the creative process behind ‘Whatever Gets You Through The Night’, as the film’s director Daniel Warren will be on hand to introduce the screening to the audience at Paisley Arts Centre.

And, to bring the talents of the artists and musicians on screen to life, Renfrewshire Arts & Museums have secured intimate live performances from acclaimed Scottish singer songwriters Emma Pollock and Withered Hand which will follow on after the screening.

Whatever Get You Through The Night plus the live performances from Emma Pollock and Withered Hand will be at Paisley Arts Centre on 13 Sept at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £8 (£5 conc) and can be booked by calling the Box Office on 0300 300 1210 or going online to www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/onlinebooking
