Paisley Development Trust presents

Paisley Patter

You and your colleagues/groups/families, are invited to the launch of the latest project from Paisley Development Trust:

6 p.m. (till 7pm), Friday 22 February

Paisley Threadmill Museum,

12 Seedhill Road, Paisley PA1 1 JS

logosCalling Stitchers!

With a deadline of June this year to complete the Paisley panel for the Great Scottish Tapestry, we are urgently looking for “stitchers” – folks who are good at/interested in or have always fancied a go at embroidery work.

If that is YOU please come along! If you know of someone who might be interested, bring them along! If you work with a group with stitching talents (even hidden ones!) bring them along or get in touch with me by phone on 07873723420 or by email.

The Paisley panel is focused on Paisley between the Wars and everyone can get involved in its creation.

Calling Young People!

We’re looking for local young people (18 – 25 year olds) who are interested in film and recording.

Again, if you fit this profile (or you know of someone who does), come along!

You will gather the stories of Paisley people who lived through the 1930s:

Calling EVERYBODY!!

Did you have family connections with the mills? Do your remember Brown and Polsons or Roberstsons’ Jam Factory?

We want to hear from YOU.

The young people involved in the project will hear and record memories of daily life, living conditions, the highs and lows of living in that period. The stories will then be translated into embroidered squares for the Paisley Panel. You can make your own (or “buddy” up with a stitcher who will make it for you)

The whole piece will be accompanied by audio visual materials (on line and in a publication)

We are looking forward to welcoming you into the Paisley Threadmill Museum on Friday, 22nd February at 6pm

Tea and biscuits will be served on arrival so please RSVP and let us know numbers for catering purposes

Paisley Patter is funded by the Heritage Lottery’s All Our Stories programme
