Festive bin collection details released
Renfrewshire Council’s bin collection services will continue as normal over the festive period – apart from on Christmas and New Year’s days.
Residents who normally have their bins collected on Tuesdays – the day on which December 25 and January 1 falls – are being asked to put them out on the preceding Saturday (the 22nd and 29th) instead.
All other collection days for the grey/blue bins will continue as normal over the Christmas/New Year period.
If services are disrupted because of bad weather, residents should put out their bins on the usual day and they will be collected as soon as possible.

Residents will receive a leaflet through their doors with details of how bin collections will be affected during the festive season.
Councillor Jim Harte, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Environment and Infrastructure Policy Board, is asking residents to help make it a green Christmas by remembering to recycle.
He said: “You may end up with more household waste than usual over the festive period, and we hope people will recycle as much of it as they can.
“People in Renfrewshire are now recycling more than ever, and we are grateful for your help with this, at all times of the year.
“Residents can use their blue bins for any paper, plastic, unbroken glass or cardboard – which means you can recycle wrapping paper, bottles, cardboard and plastic packaging and Christmas cards.
“Any items such as old electrical equipment and household appliances can be taken to one of the council’s six household waste recycling centres.
“These will be open as usual, other than on Christmas and New Year’s days, when they will be closed.”
Residents will also be able to recycle their Christmas trees between 6 and 13 January at the following places: Barshaw Park and Underwood Road recycling centre, both Paisley; Thomas Shanks Park, Johnstone; Barwood Park, Erskine, and Lochwinnoch Public Park.
