Bears by Sue Quinn,

Sue Quinn is a long established and award winning creator of traditionally styled jointed Teddy Bears and other animals. Her bears, hedgehogs, rabbits, squirrels, mice & other friends are sought by collectors worldwide.

They are mostly sold at specialist fairs and shops around the UK, but they are entirely made in Sue’s Paisley studio at 7 Hunter Street, where she has been based for the past 8 years or so, and where visitors are welcome to come and have a look at her creations.

Made to her own designs, Sue uses only top quality natural fabrics such as luxury mohairs, silks and alpacas for the bears themselves. Some are dressed in outfits (also made by Sue) using where possible vintage cottons and tweeds. Bears can also be made from or dressed in customer’s own fabrics – perhaps a favourite child’s dress for example.

These are not cheap throwaway children’s toys. They are intended as gifts that can be treasured for a long time. Prices start at £25.
If you already have an old favourite but worn out teddy bear that has seen better days, Sue also provides a repair service that can sympathetically restore your bear to something like it’s previous glory, without altering it’s character.

The studio is usually open weekdays from 10.00 to 15.00 (closed Thursdays), and at other times by appointment only. It’s best to contact Sue first if travelling a distance to avoid disappointment.
