Top authors book into Foxbar Library

Three top childrens’ authors are set to visit a Paisley library this month.

Simon Puttock, Margaret Ryan and Lynne Rickards will all pop into Foxbar Library to read from their books and talk about what inspires them.

Simon Puttock, author of Mademoiselle Gorilla will appear on Saturday 12 November between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Simon, who was born in New Zealand and now lives in Edinburgh, has written over 20 books for younger children including “Little Lost Cowboy” which was the winner of the 2006 Royal Mail Scottish Children’s Book Awards.  His books are well known as being funny and engaging, and loved by children.

Councillor Eileen McCartin, Renfrewshire Council’s Libraries spokesperson, said: “These are some of the country’s best childrens’ authors so this is a great opportunity for children to come along with their friends and family and be inspired by hearing their stories in person.”

Simon Puttock will be followed by Margaret Ryan, author of The Littlest Dragon, on Saturday 19 November, between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Lynne Rickards, author of Jacob O’Reilly Wants A Pet, will appear on Saturday 26 November, between 10.30am and 11.30am.

Events are all free to all children aged five and six and their families.
