Classes are for everyone from the complete novice to the experienced runner!

Jogging Buddies provides you with qualified jog leaders to guide & support you to attain your goals, safety of running in a group and the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Are you aspirational for Paisley? Do you want it to be a better place to live and work?

Take a minute just now and brainstorm 5 good things about where you live now – things you have enjoyed recently.

For me it would be:

[checklist]

  • our back court (love the trees & bushes),
  • my neighbours, family & friends (can’t beat a blether)
  • the wee Italian restaurant I had lunch in yesterday (La Trattoria, yum!)
  • the Lagoon for swimming with the kids (can’t wait to see it when it’s refurbished) and finally…
  • Barshaw Park (great free entertainment & exercise… and great for people spotting!)

[/checklist]

Johnstone has its very own Spiritualist Church right in the heart of the community in the United Services Club, 26 MacDowall St (upstairs). The Church has been running for just over a year and was formed and managed jointly by two local mediums, Jane Dawson and Genevieve Bailey.

Jane says, ‘We have been hoping to start a spiritualist meeting in this area for some time and are delighted to

have available premises. Our wish is that the weekly meeting is a friendly, welcoming place where you can come

to be re-united with your loved ones who have passed to the spirit world. We hope to provide a bridge between

the two worlds, providing evidence that life goes on after physical death and that your loved ones are only a

thought away and still love and care for those they’ve left behind’.

Rockin’ with style – Jill Jackson at Amaretto
THU 1 SEPT

Amaretto ristorante & pizzeria,
60 Main Street, Bridge of Weir
Time: 8:00pm

Entry is Free

For an evening of cool style with an edge pop over to Amaretto, Bridge of Weir, on Thursday 1 September at 8pm and hear local girl Jill Jackson rock.

A free taster event for the Voices in Paisley Fringe, it gives a hint of what we can expect when the Fringe kicks off properly in October.

A great way to ease yourself into September, come and enjoy as Jill entertains with her rich vocals on what is sure to be a fun, entertaining and eclectic night. Pop, rock, folk and country, Jill mixes them all superbly, and with the added excitement of a home crowd, it is sure to be a night to remember!

One of our visitors asked me the other day why our guestbook which has been going for over ten years wasn’t on the website. The answer to that is I simply forgot to add it and much like the message board which is being upgraded at the moment and some pages in the famous people section the website is still a work in progress.

If you notice anything on the website that is out of place or has missing images or links then don’t be shy, use our contact page to tell us, if there is something wrong with the page it’s more than likely we don’t know about it.
