William Shakespeare’s
The Rape of Lucrece
Directed by Gareth Armstrong

Paisley Arts Centre 7.30pm
£10 (£6 conc)

The Rape of Lucrece is a brilliant, brutal narrative poem by William Shakespeare giving an account of the terrible crime of rape and its dreadful consequences for victim and perpetrator.

Gareth Armstrong brings the poem to life on the stage. Simple and stark: a single actor, a bare stage – rapist and victim springing to searing life.

“…great acting meets classic writing…..Shakespearean acting at its absolute finest”.
Three Weeks (Brighton Festival 2009)
