A local lady, Freda Barton, from Glenburn Paisley has generously raised over £4,210 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Freda and her friends and family, shown here, have participated in countless activities to raise much needed funds to help support people affected by cancer in the local community. Freda and friends have participated in many events during 2009, from donning their green t-shirts at local fetes, to running the Paisley 10k, to holding a fantastic party night and even with her grandson saving up his pennies in a Macmillan Can!

“I’m delighted with the amount Freda has riased”, Susan Selkirk, fundraising manager for Macmillan in Renfrewshire, says “she’s so enthusiastic and wonderful at encouraging her friends and family into getting involved!”

“Macmillan is funded directly by donations and we couldn’t do the work that we do to help people affected by cancer without the dedication and support from people like Freda and her friends!

Freda has enjoyed her involvement and fundraising so much that she has signed up to continue to support Macmillan throughout 2010 as well – there is no stopping her!
