Its not too late to register for Macmillan Cancer Support’s Firewalk!
The first ever Macmillan Cancer Support West of Scotland Firewalk is taking place at the Watermill Hotel on the eve of Halloween, Friday 30 October from 6:30pm.
Although deadlines are short there are still some places available on the firewalk so don’t miss this opportunity to participate in a life changing experience!
The event will be one of the most dramatic and exciting ways you can help to change the lives of people living with cancer.
The ultimate adrenaline rush of walking across burning hot coals, with a core temperature of 1,235 degrees Fahrenheit, will leave you with the most unbelievable feeling of personal satisfaction and achievement!
The walk itself will be approximately 5 metre long and 1 metre wide, easily be crossed in 6 comfortable strides. All walkers will participate in an hour long training seminar to master their physiology and psychology. The event is run by professional Firewalking organisers.
There is a Halloween fancy dress party at the Watermill Hotel after the event to toast all walkers in their success. All walkers will receive a complimentary ticket to come to the post event disco party, additional tickets are available for friends and family.
It costs £20 to register and participants are asked to raise £150 minimum sponsorship; £150 will pay for a Macmillan benefits adviser for one day, providing patients and family members with vital financial information and advice on the benefits and grants which are available to them
We understand that the opportunity for raising sponsorship funds in time for the event is quite tight – please don’t let this stop you from getting involved! For all registrations in the month of October we have extended the donation period to the end of November – giving you and additional 4 weeks to raise as much as possible! If you have signed the paperwork guaranteeing your commitment to raise the minimum donation of £150, and have paid your £20 registration fee, you will be able to participate!
One in three people in Scotland are at risk from getting cancer at some point in their lifetime, the need for Macmillan’s services is vital and we can all help.
Please don’t delay – We need your support! To register or to find out more contact Susan Selkirk on 0141 952 0085 or email sselkirk@macmillan.org.uk
