Tunisian market brings Paisley a taste of the East

The sights, sounds and tastes of the Tunisian bazaar come to Paisley from Thursday 15 April till Saturday 17 April

Nearly 30 stalls will have hundreds of exotic offerings on sale from hand made ceramics to spices from the orient. The market is open from 9am till 5.30pm. Shoppers will also be able to enjoy cous cous, crepes and paella as they look around the stalls.

The Tunisian bazaar and continental market has been organised by the Paisley Vision Board as part of the partnership approach to regenerating the town centre. The market is one of a programme of events which has already seen the hugely successful Fireworks Night and Christmas lights switch on draw 20,000 strong crowds.

Renfrewshire’s Provost, Celia Lawson, said, “Shoppers will be able to experience exotic tastes, stunning traditional clothing and fabulous ceramics when the Tunisian bazaar and continental market comes to town.

“There will be hot food with dried fruit, nuts, olives and sweets. There will be Tunisian leather-ware, handbags, ceramics, wall-tiles, tagines, lamps, pots, carved wooden ornaments, jewellery, art, music and traditional Tunisian clothes. There is even a stall selling slippers – perfect for Grandpa’s Christmas present!”
