The Project Launches In Renfrewshire

Dynamic , motivating, inspirational….. just some of the words recruits are using to describe Renfrewshire’s newest health and fitness project with a difference. The Project are launching their ‘Project B’ authentic style bootcamp on Saturday 18th February in Bishopton at Cairellot Nursery and Learning Centre.

The Project is a new revolution in the health and fitness circuit in Renfrewshire, delivering high quality group and 1-2-1 programmes using the latest industry techniques but without the tie ins of joining a gym and setting up direct debits. This is reinforced through one of their key mottos of ’turn up, take part and workout’.

In addition to Project B comes Project 180, a personal training style programme that aims to turn participants health and wellbeing routines a full 180 degrees and set them on a new course.
Co –founders of The Project Peter Kennedy and Elaine Elliot, from Renfrew and Bishopton respectively are fully accredited and exceptional personal trainers who have worked for some of the largest fitness organisations and health clubs in the UK and have a passion for providing the local community with affordable ways to get and stay active.

At just £5 per recruit, Project B is a fun yet results driven bootcamp for people of all abilities. Everyone is welcome, all the team ask is that anyone interested in coming along ‘like’ their page on facebook – and check in to the event. Spaces are limited and sign in/ registration will take place at 8.45am on Saturday mornings so stay tuned to our social channels for all the latest news and info.

No need to go and splash out on new kit, there’s no special equipment or clothing required to take part. Just make sure you wear comfortable clothing (layers are best) and your trainers.

To keep everyone well fuelled and hydrated each new team recruit will be given a free bottle of water and a banana when they arrive.

Renfrewshire Provost Presents £22,000 Cheque For MS Sufferers

Multiple Sclerosis sufferers in Renfrewshire are to benefit from more than £22,000 which was raised by this year’s Provost’s Charity Ball.

Renfrewshire’s Provost Celia Lawson presented a cheque for £22,722.04 to Glenda McKenzie of MS Society Scotland.

The massive total was raised at the ball which was held at Mar Hall Hotel, Bishopton, in November.

The ball featured a charity auction which included a full set of Harry Potter books signed by JK Rowling, which alone raised £3,500, a holiday for four, VIP tickets to see Runrig in concert and an overnight stay at Mar Hall.

Provost Celia Lawson said: “The ball was a great night but what made it extra special was the knowledge that all the proceeds were going to such a worthwhile cause.

“MS affects a larger proportion of people in Scotland than in many other countries so there are sadly many people whose lives are affected by it. I am delighted that through the generosity of all the guests we have raised such a fantastic amount which will go towards supporting MS sufferers within our community.”

Glenda MacKenzie, Fundraising Manager, MS Society Scotland, said: “The MS Society Scotland is absolutely delighted to accept this cheque following the wonderful fund raising efforts of the Provost and her team. All the money will be used to benefit people in the Renfrewshire area who are affected by MS.”

Stolen Bike Foxbar Area

Hi there….I know this is a long shot but it’s worth a try…

My 8 yr old son’s bike went “missing” at some point last night/this
morning. Basically, it was taken from our doorstep ( we have a secure
entry system so someone has been let in…..!!! )
It is a mountain/bmx style one and is grey army camouflage in colour
& design. The front reflector is missing from it too – I have that
here as it broke off yesterday and was going to fix it today! It was
his xmas present and he used it daily for going to school as well as
going out to play on it – now he’ll have to walk to school whilst his
friends go on their bikes…

If anyone happens to notice it around anywhere in the top foxbar
area then could you please let me know asap?

Many thanks…

Paul T.
