| MY COTTAGE written by Robert D Mc Lean: |
|
MY COTTAGE
0 give the king his sceptre The squire his estate,
The rich man all his treasure
His gold and silver plate.
The sailor a ship to sail in
The horseman a speeding steed Leisure for the lazy
The scholar a book to read.
But give to me a cottage
Kissed by the setting sun
Where I can spend my leisure
When the toil of day is done. Smiled at by my loved one
My dear devoted wife,
Away from noise of battle
And all this earthly strife,
And there I’ll find contentment
In the things that God has given, That cottage full of loving
Will be my earthly Heaven.
