A BASIN OF TEARS.
Thinking back when I was younger, I recall the happy days,
High above I’d watch the town, from my view on gleniffer braes,
Every day I’d be there, I’d have lots of friends around,
But recently I’ve felt lonely, for my friends have let me down,
Over the years as I grew old, you forgot that I was here,
Nobody takes a second glance, because nobody now comes near,
Now all I have are memories, of the happy times we’d share,
I’m slowly dying of loneliness, and nobody seems to care,
Everyone who had a problem, or just needed time to think,
Will recall how I would listen, even offering them a drink,
Eventually the drink ran out, they found somewhere else to go,
Each one of you must take the blame, it was you that stopped the flow,
When the day arrives I’m no longer here, I hope your satisfied,
Each child will wonder where I am, and you will be despised,
Lost to them a beauty spot, that rotted in your time,
Link up the letters down the left, to see who wrote this rhyme
