There is more personal footage of the damage and destruction found on places like youtube where you can see just how bad things are..

We are very lucky over here and I feel bad now complanina about the bad weather we get.
www.funtoontshirts.com/ Helped us make our Doors Open Day T-shirts for 2008!! Cult Cartoon T-Shirts and more....So I have added them here!! To give them a cheer!!

Hi All,
They have had a few more after shocks today. Our youngest daughter Pam and husband Todd have just left from Manchester Airport about an hour ago. Everything seems OK but Greer their daughter looking after things Has mentioned a few problems with a couple of buildings next door but not attached. One of Council Engineers rang Todd I believe and he and Pam have been treated terrifically by the Airline and are on their way home.Don't know if you saw te school with about 6 classrooms in line and at the 4th Classroom the whole ground sank about a metre about 1/2 a km either side of the school. So that whole area is kaput for building on.Will let you know how Pam and Todd get on ASAP.
Fondest to you All and Best Regards Ken B

In the latest news from Christchurch .......”

Land Settlement

The Mayor, Bob Parker, has just asked the Maori's for our blankets and muskets back, claiming the land we got is faulty!

Hi All,
Hope the joke is OK.But Pam and Todds friends were at a Partyand at one o'clock Alice wanted to go home.Cross My Heart it is true.It was a 25th wedding Anniversary and My daughter Pam rang last night and told us.Alice's husband Chris said He couldn't drive as he was over the limit. So another couple were taking another couple home.So it was decided that Chris would sleep in the car.And Alice got the lift home. The earthquake happened at 4 am plus whatever. Chris never felt a thing he was sound asleep laying flat out in the passenger seat folded right back.Woke up at 6-45am sat up and all he could see was a load of bricks parked on the bonnet of the car and down the sides of the bonnet. He told Pam he turned to get out and a fireman and his mate were checking the cars from a distance and both of them very nearly jumped out of their gear and Chris stepped out a wanted to know who had dumped the bricks on his car.The Fireman couldn't believe that he had slept throught the quake and he couldn't believe them there had been one. Just then anotheraftershock came and the firemen dragged and called him to get in the middle of the road. His car was the last of ten and was just slightly behind the white parking line. The other 10 cars were demolished completely.
Just as he was talking to the firemen a couple of policemen arrived as his wife had managed to infform them and they were going to check the car. They thought he muast have been drunk but he had only had about 5 bottles of Stien Lager. No problems but he had to walk home. Some One Up There Likes him and his wife and friends of course. They had another 4.5 aftershock at lunch time yesterday. It looks like at least 120,00 homes are going to be pulled down and there are still alot more to be Checked and the concern is made worse as a lot of the earth is unstable near some of the undamaged houses. Fondest to you All Ken B
