Gary Ablett Jnr. has been off my Christmas card list for some time, once he started talking to Gold Coast. Geelong wasn't the team they have been in the recent past, so hopefully this will be their incentive to pull their blue and white socks up.

P.S. I think I'm starting to support the underdogs in this weekends replay, although I can't bring myself to mention the team's name.

Wonder who you are talking about 2020, I have just had dinner with my son in law and it was all football talk,I should say Collingwood my daughter is glad she is working again on Saturday. Alice

Hi 2020... Gary Ablett was right to go, ten million dollars for 5 years, he has to look at his future, there is no loyalty in any sport be it soccer, Oz rules, rugby, basketball, you name it, a player might have ten good years to earn money from his sport, that's if he doesn't have a career ending injury that so many do in this fast contact game of ours..
Clubs can get rid of a player when it suits them like Footscray and Brisbane both did with Akermanis who was a great player...Good Luck to Ablett, Judd did the same thing, he was, and still is a champion and moved from West Coast to Carlton..and by the way beat Ablett this season in winning the Brownlow for fairest and best player of the season, remember Garry Ablett Senior played for Hawthorn before he went to Geelong, and you have lived in Oz 2020, never mind the ten million dollars, where would you rather live and play? Geelong or the Gold Coast in Queensland with no winter to speak of, and swimming in the surf year round, (Gary Ablett is a Surfer) on and miles and miles of the best beaches in the world, an easy choice to make, I go up to the Gold cost every southern winter as most of us retired folks from Mebourne do. love the place............
