Strathclyde Fire and Rescue an Strathclyde Police today responded to fears of a Gas Cannister explosion just minutes from the Westend, the incident closed off the bottom half of Well Street and nearby Greenhill Road where the incident took place.

Employees from local businesses and factories were evacuated amidst concern for there safety, over two hours after the incident was first reported the area was still closed off.

Wondered what was going on. When I came home after 6:00 pm Greenhill Road between Underwood & Mckenzie Street was still sealed off

Wonder what happened to make the canisters unsafe ?? was there a fire ?

Spoke with a contact and we can expect the cordon to be in place till saturday at least, it's more precautionary measures there taking and it has to go by the book so theres no more risk than needs to be
