HERO tank driver Paul McGhee was given a proud full military send-off today at Paisley Town Hall.

Guardsman Paul died in Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital following an incident in his home village of Lochwinnoch in the early hours of Sunday, October 25.

The tragedy came two years after he risked his life in a desperate bid to save a drowning comrade in Iraq.

Paul, 28, was later awarded the prestigious Queen’s Commendation for Bravery.

Slience as Buddies lines the streets of Paisley Cross to say farewell to Paul as his service from Paisley Town hall was relayed via loudspeakers to the gathered crowds.

Paisley stood in 2 minutes silence at the Town Hall bells tolled 11am, As the procession left Paisley town Hall Old soldiers gave there salute and one old lady was seen to throw her flowers onto the roof of the hearse,Paul was laid to rest at Lochwinnoch Cemetery just before 12 midday to the song of Dire Straits " Brothers in arms".

Such a tragedy. I hope those responsible are severely punished.
I came into this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left

REST IN PEACE PAUL.

Sad time for his family but I am sure they were delighted at the Full Military Funeral which Paul was given and deserved.
