I just have to rant.....

I am absolutely disgusted at the cruelty of the sick thug, a 17 year old teenager who battered a helpless fox to death, the thought of it makes me feel sick to my stomach.

When the sheriff heard that the accused was surviving on income support and living in homeless accommodation, she has requested a full background report and a community service assessment before deciding on an appropriate disposal/punishment and released him on bail.

It was deliberate, he knew what he was doing and I think he should be put in jail, however I know that wont change his mentality nor kill off the cruel streak that is in him he is a cruel evil sadistic swine. This is a family site or I may have worded it differently, lets hope the Sheriff deals the punishment he deserves.

Maybe a locked unit of a psychiatric hospital where he can be treated for his illness ( because he sounds ill to me) would be better. I understand your anger Laughing Lady of course. And it sickens me too. But jail time does have an end to it and he might come back out worse. Maybe the next victim wont be a fox, but a wee child. Maybe treatment would be better. No guarantees though*sigh*.

Point taken Jock10,we can all have our thoughts thats what makes us who we are, however if its in him its in him and no matter whether Jail or Locked unit is his fate he probably wont change.

I despair for some of these youths today. No respect for the elderly in fact no respect for anyone, any thing or any animal, and back to what was said in an earlier post, we were all of a generation, who had very little but we repected our and other peoples lifes and belongings.

Sadly it all comes too easy for them nowadays.

Cruelty of that kind is unexcusable! I am sick to death of the poor excuses used to condone & excuse this kind of sick behavior. Oh I was abused as a child...oh my father was a drunk and used to beat me....does not excuse you from this kind of action....you can change & choose how to live your life....not to be an abusor, not to be a drunk etc....whatever your unfortunate circumstances are it does not give you the right to take the life of any living creature.

I hate to think on animals being tortured. I think this lad is so evil and this evil is in him no matter what is tried to cure him. I listened to a debate about bringing back hanging last night, following the death of a fellow who asked 3 youths to stop urinating in his garden. The youths set about him and kicked him to death. A young family left without their dad and a young woman without her man.

I don't think the punishment always meets the crime, but it's difficult to know what would be suitable punishment for these yobs that usually pick on someone or some thing (like the fox) who is unable to defend themself. Makes me feel sick. There is no excuse. JG

Not once but twice a wrote [long winded] none the less my observations onthe judicial system,and I was quite pleased with the results altho a do say so masel. The problem on both occassions when I pressed the button to submit it the messages both of them dissappeared intae cyber space first time wiz bad enough but twice wisnae fair so am no talkin tae oanboady the noo unless yea send me expensive BIG BIG gifts.... it s rainin again
