SANTA and his elves are being a crafty lot this Christmas if a special event at Johnstone Town Hall this weekend is anything to go by.

The venue is hosting its first-ever Festive Arts and Crafts Fair, on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19 between 11am and 4pm with free entry for everyone.

More than 30 stalls featuring all kinds of arts and crafts will be there, including handmade clocks, soya candles, embroidery, jewellery, papercraft, stained glass and unusual Christmas gifts and decorations.
And on Sunday there’s a free Festive Family Fun Day also being held with a Santa’s Grotto, bouncy castle, arts and crafts activities for kids, balloon modelling, treasure hunt for Santa’s missing elves, and decorating gingerbread men biscuits.

The events are being organised by Renfrewshire Leisure and its chief executive, Joyce McKellar says:
“This is a great way or all the family to get in the festive mood and grab themselves some unusual and handmade presents for Christmas.

“It’s the first time we’ve organised a Festive Arts and Crafts Fair and because of this Santa has promised to pay us a special visit.”
