It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Glentanar Court. The local TA unit, based at Hawkhead, very kindly assisted with the digging out  of our ‘Bee Friendly’ flower bed.

The planting is almost finished and we will then be inviting children from the local primary schools in for a ‘Be Friendly’  teaparty, hoping to break down some of the barriers between young and old and invite the school to make use of the garden as they learn about the environment and the vital role bees play.

We have also hosted a teaparty for Contact the Elderly, with members of the Bellahouston branch coming for tea cakes and chat.

September 29th is Macmillan Coffee morning day and we will be trying to better the £300 we raised last year for this worthy cause.

October 2nd we will be celebrating International Older Persons’ Day with an event highlighting all the skills and talents that our tenants have contributed to their communities over their lifetime, and which they are still active in sharing.

Glentanar Court is a ‘retirement’ housing complex managed by Cairn Housing Association and we welcome applications from those aged 50 plus.

We are always happy to show those interested round our complex, and answer any questions over a cuppa!

We offer a comfortable, well appointed living environment with a varied and vibrant social programme organised by tenants.
