Gavin Newlands, SNP Candidate for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, said:

“I can’t quite believe that it’s been a year since Jo Cox was tragically murdered in her constituency as she carried out her parliamentary duties. Jo was a committed parliamentarian who strived to bring communities together.

“The Great Get Together is a fantastic initiative which has been set-up in honour of Jo’s commitment to bring communities together.

“I was delighted to visit ‘Our Place, Our Families’ to learn more about their recent work to support the local community. ‘Our Place, Our Families’ do fantastic work to support families and individuals – their work epitomises the positive legacy of Jo Cox.

“We can all get caught up in the heat and pressure of an election campaign. The legacy of Jo Cox reminds us all that we all have more in common that what divides us.”
