The event was organised by Renfrewshire Leisure and as well as enjoying Scottish music being played on the pool’s sound system, the swimmers were entertained by six-year-old Hayley Carlton, from Renfrew, who gave them a demonstration of Highland dancing at the poolside.

And afterwards there were traditional Scottish refreshments of
Irn Bru, shortcake and teacakes.

Joyce McKellar, chief executive of Renfrewshire Leisure said: “The staff at Renfrew Victory Baths always go the extra mile to put on events to mark special occasions and involve the swimmers who come along on a regular basis.
“The poolside was festooned with Scottish flags and everyone had a great time, especially when they danced the Splashing White Sergeant and the Spray Gordons in the pool!”
