Councillor Eddie Devine, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Environment Policy Board, said: “Our Street Stuff programme is helping to engage with young people and is making a noticeable difference in our communities.

“Thousands of our young people are taking part in free interactive activity sessions which is keeping them safe, fit, happy and healthy.

“There are a fantastic range of activities on across the festive period and I would encourage everyone to sign up to take part.”

Street Stuff began in 2009 as a partnership between Renfrewshire Council, St Mirren FC, Engage Renfrewshire, Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

It aims to work with young people on the streets and since its inception; reported incidents of youth disorder and antisocial behaviour in Renfrewshire have dropped by 75 per cent.
