WORK is due to start on improvements and repairs at Ralston Community Centre.

The project is part of a £3 million investment upgrading six community centres, in Renfrewshire.

The work at Ralston, which begins shortly after Christmas, includes external repairs to the roof, brickwork and drainage. Inside, the community centre will be electrically re-wired, upgrades to the toilet and ventilation system, along with new doors and improvements to the library.

The community Centre will close on December 24 for the improvement works to be carried and it is expected to re-open at the end of February.

The project will be managed by a joint project team made up of officers from Renfrewshire Council, Community Resources and Renfrewshire Leisure. Renfrewshire Council’s own building services workforce is carrying out the work.

Chief executive of Renfrewshire Leisure, Joyce McKellar said: “Once these works are complete the people of Ralston will have a modern and attractive facility to use and enjoy.”
